30 days Writing Challenge — Accepted

This appears to be a tough but exciting call.

Yesterday, I was reading some Medium stories and found one from John Cepoi in which he mentioned that he wrote for 4 months straight on the platform.

I thought to myself, “Why not give it a try?”

Here comes the major difference between him and me.

He published daily for about 120 days but my goal is of 30 days only.

Why?

Here is the reason.

When we are not habitual of something, let’s say working out and plan to work out daily for 3 months after seeing a YouTube video. We are motivated and think, "Okay, let’s do it." But after 2 to 3 days, when our body starts getting exhausted and painful, we want to stop.

Our determination is somehow crashed and we look for pleasure that we get on the couch. Many of us give up at this point.

The same goes for writing as well. I accept that I am not publishing daily. I am not used to it. If I want to take a long jump, the probability of failure is about 0.7 (I’m a Math graduate, you know).

So instead of that, I choose to start walking in smaller footsteps.

Step 1- 30 days or 1 month.

Step 2- Month 2.

Step 3- Month 3.

and at this point, it will be a part of my life so without even trying,I will show up for the fourth month too.

By Author (Every day I will use it as a checklist )

What will I write?

To be frank, I don’t know.

I do content ideation every Sunday.

I will open up my heart in front of you (without telling the name of my lover lol).

I will write about freelance and content writing. I am also thinking to start publishing some self-improvement articles too, as I have expertise in giving advice to people in this niche (I have got compliments so I am considering myself an expert).

When Will I Write & Publish?

I am a night owl who is trying to be a morning person nowadays. I will publish 6 days a week on Medium and LinkedIn (except Sundays).

My Sundays are for planning and self-analysis.

My writing schedule will be as follows:

Writing time- Anytime before 2 PM

Editing time- 5 PM

Publishing time- Around 5.30 PM

What do I have for you in this Story?

A message.

Just because others are doing something and they are getting results, DOESN’T mean you have to do exactly the same.

Break your final goal into smaller ones and accomplish them.

Treat yourself after achieving every target and then, start the next one.

Celebrate your every success without comparing it with someone else’s.

Final words

I am determined to write and publish for 30 days on Medium and would love to receive your support.

If you are also thrilled to start this 30 day writing challenge with me, go for it. You can mention me in your stories if you start it. I would be happy to read, clap and comment on your posts.

Thanks for reading.
