One day, an influencer made a reel in which he/she explained that you should send 50–100 emails to ideal clients on daily basis.

According to him/her, out of 100, 20 will respond to you. Out of 20, 10 will come on a discovery call with you and out of those 10, 3 will be your client. Use my template and get a better conversion rate — He said.

If this is what you are told, delete this from your brain right now.

Here’s why —

When you send cold emails using a template, you are not standing out.

That big influencer of yours has about 264K followers and all will use the same template.

So, do you think you will be able to catch the attention of your prospective clients?

No. You won’t.

You can only attract clients by sending personalized emails and not with any template. Yes, you can get an idea from templates but add your own touch in it. Do not copy and paste it. The email that has some research done, a pain point of the recipient and the solution to the same (your services), works well.

In other words, the email that is tailored for the client is going to give you results.

Now, let’s come to the question, Do you need to send 50–100 emails a day?

The answer is NO.

If you are sending a personalized email to a potential client, it will cost you about 30–35 minutes. If you want to send 50 emails a day, you need about 1500 minutes or simply 25 hours, that is more than even a day. So, now you know you don’t have to send emails in bulk. You do not have the whole day solely for sending emails to people.

You — Okay Anamika, I got it. Now, what solution do you have for me?

Me — Simple. Instead of sending 50+ emails a day that many big influencers suggest, try sending 1–2 personalized cold emails.

These emails will have better conversion rates.

How?

This is because you will do proper research about the person you are going to send that email to. Where is he struggling? How can your services help him in achieving his goals? You will be answering these in your email. Hence, more chance of getting a response from the prospect.

Do you want to be like him?

Final Words

Do not fall for the words of influencers. Not everything that they say is true. Do your things. Learn from them but do not follow them blindly. Learn to filter and separate right from wrong paths.

Thanks for reading and take care :)
