I don’t want to Continue the 30 Days Writing Challenge Now.
You should not too!
Why do I not want to continue further?
Am I lazy — yes. For writing — Never
Initially, I saw many writers publishing daily on Medium. “This is what I am not doing and thus, getting slow results” — I thought to myself. Then, I made a decision. I planned to start 30 days writing challenge. I got many followers, good views and lovely comments from you guys. Thank you :)
I felt like oh, now I’m on track. I should write every day on Medium.
But sooner I realized this rule of publishing daily is somewhat toxic. I have not published in the last few days. Each day, when I opened Medium to read some articles, reply to comments or simply, check the follower count, I felt low seeing I have not published anything. I was at a family wedding, then another event yesterday and got sick last night.
Today is Sunday. In the first half of the day, I was depressed thinking I am lost. I wasn’t active anywhere. But that’s fine. I just relaxed without worrying much.
These are not the reasons why I don’t want to continue the challenge. I wanted to write what was going on before proceeding further. If you didn’t like it, sorry. If you read it, thank you.
Why Am I Against Writing Daily?
Many writers create content daily. But this type of schedule can exhaust you. You may feel burnt out.
If you want to include a touch of creativity in your write-ups, you should take days off. You should travel and live life to get better ideas to write. You can not do that by staying in your room 24/7.
I have already shared how you can plan your weekends. You can do self-introspection, relax and do what you want. The main point is to take breaks as well.
Loving your work is good but work isn’t life. Love your life as well. Travel. Go for a walk. Move your body. Stay happy and enjoy.
Final Words
You have got a whole week to work, write and publish. To refresh your mind, you need weekends as well. 30 days writing challenge was a failure. But it gave me your love. I became a Top Writer in writing. I got this as a result. I will write regularly but not for the sake of any challenge that I should complete to sound cool in front of my audience.
You and I know how to stand after falling. Am I right?
Thanks for reading and take care :)
